Natif Natal, the second exhibition in the Otòn Ayisyen series which took place from September to December 2024 and which highlighted the art of the Haitian diaspora, presented the works of painter Riboul Montfleury and jeweler Astryd Roy.

 

The painting exhibition presented a retrospective of Montfleury's work, whose style spans the registers of figurative, abstract and cubism. The treatment of acrylic paint applied sometimes flat, sometimes in relief but always through a structured technique of colors and textures expresses a complex reflection of the artist that is vigorously developed to pay homage to life itself. ​​

 

As a support and complement to the paintings, Roy’s jewelry includes coral, stones and ox horn brought back from Haiti. Each piece is unique, intentionally made from naturally occurring materials and throughout the process, hand-crafted with mystical care and consideration to become more than just another piece of jewelry, but in its very essence, a living and spiritual art.
