Abundant and free
industrial resource
COP 25 - MONTREAL
2025 | MAY 15th
Opening May 15th
NOTICE - ENERGY SOBRIETY
It is time to stop assuming that resources are abundant, inexhaustible, and free when they have become scarce and expensive. Scarce because they are increasingly less accessible and concentrated. Expensive, firstly because the capital and labor required to their extraction have a cost that we are constantly seeking to reduce through technological acceleration and decline in social protections, and secondly, because of their scarcity it is becoming increasingly expensive to exploit them.
MONTREAL PROTOCOL
Extension of ozone-depleting substances ban (1987) to substances that increase the atmosphere, oceans and land surfaces temperature through superficial uses progressive taxation and salaried labor social protection costs replacement by environmental taxation in order to support a resource-efficient, less polluting, and more labor-intensive economy (2025).
COMPOSITION
The exhibition includes Montreal refinery, city's east end tanks, and Port dock observation well cover photographs.
Rust brings us back to earth. Infrastructures decay reflects industrial facilities functional temporality and their lasting environmental footprint. All of this is intended to raise awareness about energy efficiency.
